Friend called to remind me that I had been introduced to an entrepreneur friend of his before Christmas when I was in London and had not followed up that meeting. His friend has an idea for a business that could be quite huge, but needed some help to find appropriate funding.

I apologised and searched through my emails for the draft Confidentiality agreement from the company. Having checked it out, I entered my company details in to the template, adjusting the formatting (but not the wording) so that it fitted neatly on to 4 pages and signed, dated and scanned the agreement and emailed it off to his friend's company for them to countersign.

I had not been idle in the intervening months as I have been getting back in touch with my former colleagues who work in financial services, and letting them know I am back and active again in that area.

A flurry of emails from the Cardiff Regional Court of Protection Hub notifying me that the Caernarfon hearing has been vacated but providing a copy of the Transparency Order for that case.

Then a series of emails from clerk at Preston Court, first with a copy of the Transparency Order for a hearing on 31 January 2024 at 11:00 and then with a Transparency Order for a case at 14:00. But followed soon after with a notice that the 11:00 hearing has been vacated (cancelled).

But then a link for the 14:00 hearing.

I asked, if the 11:00 hearing has been vacated because an order has been agreed, could I have sight of that order, please? The clerk at Preston said, I need to pass that request on to the Manchester Regional Court of Protection Hub because I do not get to see those orders.

And very shortly later, from the Manchester Hub comes a copy of the draft order, which states at the bottom - "This order shall take immediate effect without bearing the seal of the Court of Protection."

Appended to the draft order is a confidential schedule which provides the details of the nursing home where 'P' is currently residing. Not sure that I should have been sent that with the draft order - but I am bound by the terms of the Transparency Order which prohibits me from communication that information to anyone (and which, of course, I will respect).

So currently the score is: 2 hearings vacated. 1 currently going ahead at 14:00 tomorrow. 3 Transparency Orders and one draft order.

Will get back on to courtserve sharpish and find a potential Court of Protection hearing that I can observe tomorrow morning.

Now back to Public Space Protection Orders - I have undertaken to review and comment on the contents of a PSPO for a car park in Stamford where the local youths were causing some nuisance in their cars.

And then I have a couple of parking tickets and potential appeals on those to look at for another friend.

No peace for the wicked, as my mother used to say to me!
